The Dos and Don'ts of Driveway Power Washing

Do:

Test your pressure washer nozzle tip in a small location on your driveway to ensure it won’t damage your driveway surface. The last thing you want to do is attempt to wash your driveway and need to resurface it afterward.

Avoid spaying towards flowerbeds. The high pressure coming from your pressure washer has the capability to severely damage fragile plants at a moment’s notice. Make sure to point your washer away from any vegetation while spraying always.

Start with the lowest pressure and work your way up. This helps ensure you don’t do damage to your driveway while performing your driveway cleanup.

Use sweeping motions while cleaning your driveway. This will help avoid unwanted spray marks and streaks.

Don’t:

Never underestimate the power of a pressure washer. They are useful tools that can cause damage to surfaces and people if used incorrectly.

Don’t bring your nozzle too close to the surface you are washing. Your nozzle should be about 2 feet from the space you Are spraying at all times.

Don’t point the nozzle at people or animals. While it may seem harmless, power washers have enough power to break skin and can injure people and animals.
